Is there an issue if I am already dealing with an accountancy practice?

It is very easy to move over to Tandem. We will simply need to clarify your existing set-up and make the transition. We can liaise with your existing agent in relation to the new details.

Professional Contractors, Independent Contractors and Freelancers may be engaged in a number of ways; by a company directly, by a specialist intermediary company, or through a recruitment agency. Tandem can assist you in all of these instances.

How do I know what my tax credits should be?
answer

You can log onto ROS and apply for a Certificate of Tax Credits and Standard Cut-Off Point in the ‘PAYE Anytime’ section, or you can use the revenue contact locator  to obtain the contact number for your local office through entering your PPS number and calling them to request a certificate.

What tax documents do Tandem require?

If you have recently ceased employment, you need to provide Tandem with your P45. If this is your first employment, you need to fill in a Form 12A in order to establish your tax credit entitlement.

The PRSI rate of 4% applies to S Class self-employed / company directors.

Can I claim travel expenses when I am contracting?

Yes, it is possible to claim travel expenses while you are contracting as long as they are in line with the Revenue guidelines.

Can I claim business related expenses when I am contracting?

Yes, it is possible to claim business related expenses while you are contracting. The Revenue provide the guide that the expense must be incurred wholly, exclusively and necessarily for the purpose of the trade or profession. Tandem will identify the typical business related expenses relevant to you initially and provide ongoing assistance in relation to other potential expenses should your circumstances change.
